Everyday Life

Things and Stuff

The weather has been wild and unpredictable. Which is actually predictable if you live in Middle Tennessee. This year I’ve been suffering from some sort of sinus issue. I don’t know if the cold I had before has become an allergy issue or what. It’s not debilitating and is sort of nice in some ways. I haven’t been able to smell in almost two weeks and when you change poopy diapers daily, this is a welcome handicap.

Anywho….I took a few pictures of the boys at play…

The snow is gone again and the weather is warming up a bit. But nothing like last weekend. You can see in the picture from March 2nd that Owen was out playing in shorts. It was a beautiful day. That night I drove to Cookeville to see my cousins at a little Methodist church. They travel and sing and were on their way back from a couple services in Florida. Since they were close by I packed up two of the boys and headed out. It was enjoyable to see them all and it was neat for me to let Owen experience some of what I remember a lot of as a kid. Hearing my relatives sing and play for area churches. It’s a very different setting than what he is used to. There was no nursery, no children’s church, just families in tightly packed pews clapping along to the music. I think he enjoyed it.

More recently, I’ve been preparing for another Ladies Ministry Spring Seminar. I opted out of teaching this year and I’m glad I did. I’m busy enough without the added pressure of preparing a lesson. I am however, getting a skit ready and will be rehearsing pretty much every Tuesday night this week.

And I really don’t have much else to write about. I’m feeling a little uninteresting lately. I’ll let you know if things pick up.

Oh…Kris updated his blog this weekend.

Oh…I had a birthday on Friday. It snowed that night so I didn’t get to go out with my husband and enjoy a birthday date. We will do it another time. Anyone want to babysit?

  1. Um yeah, it was nice to see the snow (the most we’ve had in 5 years or so) but honestly I’m ready to thaw out. I was actually glad when it melted- I never do that.

  2. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Grrrl, if you were in New Orleans, I’d at LEAST get you some beignets and cafe au lait. And we wouldn’t worry about the snow.

  3. Amy – I know what you mean…I love to see the snow but I’m ready for Spring now. It’s like an ex-boyfriend who comes back when you’ve already found somebody else. Sorry…winter, I’ve moved on.

Traci – How’s the new job?

Becky – Cafe’ Du Monde would have been a perfect Birthday outing. We have been scheming as to how to make it down there to take you up on the beignets.

  4. I’m loving the snow photos. And happy birthday! I wish I could take those boys off your hands for your date night 🙂
And if there is a meeting planned at Cafe Du Monde, somebody’d better tell me….
