The Struggle is Real

We say it as a joke, a snide comment, a way to relate to others, but it’s true. Struggles are real. We can dress them up in pretty smiles and say we know it will all work out, but that trudging through the mud of disappointment and questions is not really very funny. It’s kind of hard. The Entrepreneur’s Wife

When I married Kris I knew a few things he didn’t know. I knew that he could do more than he thought he could, and I knew that he would start a business.

He had no desire to start a business and told me so, but I knew he would anyway.

There were a lot of things I didn’t know, and a lot of things he knew about me that I didn’t know about myself. It can be the best part about marrying someone to hear their fresh perspective on some of the things you may have found a little stale about yourself. Continue reading

Moms Are Amazing

I know that title may sound a little like I’m tooting my own horn…because I’m a mom too…but I am really thinking of the moms I’ve observed over the years, mostly those who’ve walked the path ahead of me and seemed to navigate the snap back curves a little bit better than others. Continue reading

We do still eat though. I have made out my menu week after week, but obviously haven’t always taken the time to put it here. I may need to simplify my methods. Explanations aren’t always necessary. They are fun though. This week we’ll try to simplify and we’ll only add the things that are going on that day and it may or may not seem obvious as to why I chose the meals I chose. Continue reading

Tiptoe Through

A Tutorial of sorts

My friend Heather is a remarkable talent. Her eye for peaceful colors, environments and vignettes is very, very keen. She recently posted a photo on facebook of a small table display that included a tall glass vase with dirt in the bottom and white tulips rising out of it. It was so springy and earthy and pretty…I had to try it. Continue reading

Beauty is Vain

“One frequently only finds out how really beautiful a really beautiful woman is after considerable acquaintance with her; and the rule applies to Niagara Falls, to majestic mountains, and to mosques–especially to mosques.” –Mark Twain

I’m studying beauty. Not “how to,” but “what is…and…how is it important?” Continue reading
