A Long Flight Home

Yesterday was the longest Tuesday I’ve ever had. It started in Delhi and ended in Mount Juliet and was a full 35 hours long. I know there are only 24 hours in a day but the 10 and a half hour time difference came into play and to be honest…I’m still feeling a little stretched this morning.

I’m very glad to be home but still looking at the clock and imagining what our friends in India are up to right now. It’s 8:14 a.m. here, add 10 and a half and it’s 6:44 p.m. there, and many of them are still working. It was unusual while we were there to eat dinner before 8:00.

I will write more, probably way too much, but I wanted to just update with one simple thought to address my post last Sunday before I left.

I went unsure of what God wanted me to do, or if He even wanted me to go. I came home completely confident that I had been exactly where He wanted me to be. It had so little to do with me and what I could offer, it had everything to do with a plan that was already in action before I got there and will continue seamlessly without me. Yet, I (our team) was a crucial part, if only for a little while.

I’ll expand more, I promise, but I need to get out of my pajamas and pay a little attention to my boys. Summer vacation has begun.
