Everyday Life

Christmas 2007

Well we had a lovely Christmas day. Kris’ brother and his wife, Kevin and Jessica were here for a few days. They left this morning and his parents are here until Saturday. We had a get together on Saturday with the Buttons and the Fadely’s minus Travis and Amanda who had to work. We got such lovely gifts, I love the throw from the Buttons, it looks so pretty on my favorite chair and has already proven itself a cozy addition to the living room. From the Fadely’s we got another of Tisra’s linoleum block prints. It’s so pretty and though I haven’t decided exactly where I will hang it, for now it is on the mantle where it has already received some oohs and aah’s from our recent guests. We tried to get a picture of all the kids together and none of them turned out with each face in the right direction or without something covering a face or someone taking off out of the picture. This one was about as close as we could get…

Now that I have given away all but two of my homemade gifts for the year I will go ahead and post these pictures. I worked on these pretty much all year in order to get 10 bath mitts and 10 wash cloths done by Christmas. The soap and bath salts are from Brooke Kelso’s store in Spring Hill. She and Donald are cousins of ours and the store opened just this year. The store sells bath products with a bit of a twist in that the customer can create the scent and color used in the product they choose. Here are two of the packages I came up with…

Yesterday morning we opened gifts and the boys were patient waiting for all the adults to wake up and get started. They each had plenty to open and keep them busy. Here are a couple shots of them with toys…

We relaxed during the day, playing games and getting ready for a big dinner that night. John and Michelle Tucker along with 4 year old Gabe joined us from Clarksville for dinner. We all ate and the boys played and ran themselves ragged while the adults enjoyed a game of Apples to Apples that Kris’ mom got for Christmas.

Michelle confessed that she has begun a painting for us but wasn’t able to finish it before Christmas. Amy had told me that she had the same dilemma when she was here on Saturday. And Tisra will be doing a little something for our Aron when I decide what subject I want her to put on paper. I’m so excited by all of these. My friends and family are so talented and to have such personalized and original things come my way is incredibly special.
